I was provoked by a remark from a friend about this elder who has sex 10 times a day but does not ejaculate. We all know or at least have heard that sex is for either elevation- not recreation- (unless we are actually RE-creating) or procreation. Soo... why is the "elevation" aspect of sex misused in most cases. It is rare that you hear of people using it to reach new "spiritual" heights or to make things happened (i.e. prayers meditation and focusing before after or during). I, for one have used it this way but have to admit that many times I have taken that aspect out of it. As an initiated woman (we will get to that at another time) I do know how to do it but get caught up in the moment, environment or any other distractions. Which leads me to my topic "Why I wrote this book"...
• For starters I think that "sex" the way it is thought of today a misnomer in ancient times (still presently in some practices) it was used to heal, enlighten, do "works" etc. Now days it is just a time-filler or a way to reach a very brief euphoric feeling that is neither lasting nor enlightening. Much like how the use of drugs has been lost in translation so has the ancient practices of "communication" after all that is what it truly is. Rather communing with the individual you are with, the ancestors, the creator or anyone/thing else there is an exchanging of things. I wanted to reintroduce those ideas and concepts of "sex"
• I wanted to knock down walls about being gay, straight, bi, and everything in between as well. We are not (or at least should not be) defined or judged by who and what we are attracted to or aroused by. We can be attracted to or aroused by many things that run the gamut from living things to ideas, scents, colors, etc. So why limit people to only being attracted to one form of the creator. Now I am not saying that you have to act on everything that you are aroused by or attracted to because that would cause chaos. But allowing that force in The Creator to flow freely is a beautiful thing.
• I also wanted to share some of my views and practices with people. Over the years I have consistently been asked "What do you believe it? What do you practice? Are you "religious or spiritual"? Can you tell me more about "African Culture"? So I attempted to address some of those things on a very basic level just to get in the door. The next book will go into these things more fully.
• I love to write and read. I think that language and words can open new doors to life. Just how the same word said in different tones, speeds, pitches, languages can have many, many, many meanings and all at the same time is deep to me.
• Lastly (although all have not been expressed) is that... It is time. Human kind is looking to be fulfilled, expanded, enlightened and challenged in new ways. I want to be one of the ones who is engaging in that work
I hope this explains, If not, feel free to ask question, reread or just take a moment to breath.
I look forward to your comments
